Newest Item...necklaces!

So I spent about an hour in http://www.ornamentea.com/ in downtown Raleigh (very cool store!) and purchased the parts needed to create the newest item that was brewing in my brain the other night when I couldn't fall asleep. Why not take the photos of the custom pet portraits, put them in little pendants, cover them with resin, make the chain and wear it out and about?!? These make me so happy!!

Etsy for the Holidays

Google Analytics. Very cool. Especially when I see any increase in hits to my shop! :)
Excited about my little ornaments I made. I stuffed paper flowers into the glass ornament and spread them out with a long paint brush and then added glitter and fake snow. The ribbons are all sewn to make one big loop. They make me smile. I have lots-o-colors....two of them on my Etsy shop...

Art shows were a good time!

It's always so nice to be on the Peace College campus...brings back happy memories. The Durham Artwalk went well, too. I got a lot of contacts of people interested in pet portraits. And that, my friends, is what will keep me pretty busy on the weekends and weeknights until next year. My thoughts are that I will try and sell as much of my inventory as I can before the new year and then try and focus on my pet portraits. So this may mean a massive flea market sale soon...in a couple of weeks perhaps. I will keep you posted!

Donation to the ASPCA, thanks to you

Thanks to the past five orders of custom pet portraits, I was able to donate $25 to the ASPCA. Thank you so much and please tell your friends and family about Amy's Creative Corner. :)

Join me this Thursday for a lovely art event. Local artists, including myself, will be selling artwork with 50% of the sale going to the Alzheimers North Carolina, Inc. My Poppy Yeager passed away a few years ago from this awful disease, so this event means a lot to me and my family...hope to see you there! Dog T-Shirts, political

I just had to do it! I created an image and had it printed on a couple of dog shirts. "Even I know there is no good in higher taxes, and I'm a dog!"

And of course, modeling this piece of artwork is my girl, Mya, as well as her friend, Pancho. Mya has a little bit of a weight problem, haha, poor girl, but who says thick girls can't be models?!?

Custom Trays and more

Been busy working on custom pieces lately...and I just love seeing the happy recipient! A couple of trays for different wedding gifts, custom paintings for birthdays and artwork displayed at B.J. Lawson's political headquarters in downtown Durham have kept me in my art studio...singing along to Metallica and CocoRosie (just like my artwork, my choice in music varies quite widely!).

Birthday time! and a sale to NY

For the birthday girl who loves cherries! My lovely friend Stephani received a scarf with sewn on cherries from A.C.C. to keep her warm this fall. She looks so pretty in it!

Also, I am super happy that I made a sale today on Etsy from a person in
New York. A.C.C. travels north!

And, last but not least...my little girl next to the gift that was donated to the
art auction for the Hounds for Heros event in Charlotte. Amy's Creative Corner supports our troops!

Rain didn't stop me at the Dog Olympics or Hopscotch!

Well, technically it did, since I had to wrap up Hopscotch Market a little before 11pm. Some of my dog biscuits on the paintings were getting wet. ZOIKS! But I had a good time and got to pass out a lot of business cards. If one person for every 10 people who picked up a card got back to me with an interest in artwork, I'd be a happy camper. I met a lot of really cool artists last night...hope to see them at the next event.

Dog Olympics and Hopscotch Market

Yes, Dog Olympics. Oh my sweet juniper juice! This Saturday (11th) from 10-4, ACC will be at Moore Square for the Dog Olympics. I am SO looking forward to this. Here's the link to find out more...

AND because all that I want to do right now is promote ACC, I will be rushing from the Dog Olympics, schlepping my goods two blocks to the right, for the Hopscotch Market. This event should be fun too, with live music going on all night! I'll be there (in front of Morning Times Market) from 6-11pm.

I hope I see you there...either one...you've got two opportunities in one day!

(the photo in this posting is an example of Holiday cards with pet portraits sewn on, so if you're interested, feel free to check out my etsy shop for more info...

Pet Portraits...and the Donations to ASPCA

So I had a thought last night before falling asleep...and this is what I came up with. With every 5 pet portraits that I sell, I will donate $25 to the ASPCA. I was on their website (www.aspca.org) and felt an urge to try and make a difference to the animals that are in need. I truly feel that although pets are not your whole life, they make your life whole. Just give them your trust and a little bit of love, and they will be your best friend, no matter what. So I invite you to help me with this cause, visit my Etsy shop, tell your friends, and let's make a difference. Thank you!

First Friday Super fun

Had a great night with the First Friday event last night for Morning Times Market. Near the beer tent, in front of Raleigh Times Bar, lots of artists, fun people (Mom, sister and her friends, Shannon, Michael and Sean...thanks for your support and love!) made it a truly lovely evening. I can't wait for next month, September 3.

The first time doing a show at night was fun...especially since I could hang my Christmas lights!! Funny how a little bit of light can set a mood to party, drink and buy art! :)

Raleigh Wide Open and upcoming events

Raleigh Wide Open was a good time! Despite the rainy weather, I was entertained by an interesting parade and was placed right next to the German Pastry booth...ooo how good the aroma was.

Next on the list is the Morning Times Market this Friday from 6-9pm, downtown on Hargett Street. It's their first time doing this so I am really looking forward to it and seeing how it goes.

Have worked a lot on my gift bags/wrap...with hand-stamped bags and boxes...I just hope I can use them for happy customers! :) Also, I am excited to see the reaction to some earrings I created (my first time trying out jewelry making) so we'll see what the response is.

Vendor at Raleigh Wide Open July 31st!! And more...

I am so excited to announce that I will be a vendor at the Raleigh Wide Open this Saturday, July 31. I've attached a link for you to find out more about it...

I was up at 6:30 am on this fine Sunday morning with extreme urges to create, and I feel that it will be my motivation all week in prepping for this event. It's been a while since I've done any kind of market, so I am actually kinda nervous. This should bring in about 30,000 people! Hope that they enjoy my new pieces of art. :)

Also! Very happy that I will be a vendor at the Morning Time's First Friday Event on August 6 and September 3 from 6-9pm. Stand by for more on this event...
