Merry Christmas everybody

Well, I don't know about you, but I ate way too much yesterday. It was a great Christmas. I really hope to hear some stories from my customers about how much their recipient enjoyed their custom order. I have heard of two happy stories so far, and look forward to hearing more. Thank you so much!

I wish everyone a fun and joyous New Years celebration! Cheers to the New Year!

Here are some portraits and gifts that were opened across the country this Christmas...

The new Website!

I had a wonderful designer re-do my website and let me tell you...I am so happy with it! She did an awesome job. Not only was she super efficient and ahead of schedule, but she really listened to me and what I wanted. About fours ago, I designed it myself and although it was OK, I realized that there were no photos or references to my pet portraits, or any recent work for that matter. So she gave it a face lift! She does other design too and you can find out more about her and see her talents on her site: http://www.seednouveau.com/.  I hope you like the new site just as much as I do. Woohoo!!

Gift Cards for the Holidays! Wrapped with love and care, for your loved ones. I technically had my holiday cut-off on November 5th, but I still wanted to give my customers the opportunity to give a gift full of love this season. So with gift cards, your loved one can "open" up a gift and receive the actual painting, or handmade craft, a few weeks later. I'd love to hear from you and get his gift card created for you! See more on my Etsy shop: www.amyscreativecorner.etsy.com.

Thank you and shop Etsy this Black Friday and Cyber Monday!

Cary Magazine Local Artists

Hot off the press...the latest issue of Cary Magazine with a section on local artists, including Amy's Creative Corner! Woohoo!!! This was my first time in a magazine, not including ads that I pay for, so this was a big and very happy deal for A.C.C. There are other great artists in this issue too, so pick one up today.

Also, they added an awesome "meet the artist" section on their website where they give a little blurb about all the artists in the magazine. Here it isCary Magazine online

Ordering for the Holidays

It's that time of year...can you believe it?!

The orders of pet portraits for Christmas gifts have been coming in, which is awesome. Just a word to anyone out there who is considering placing an order for a Holiday gift, please make your order before November 5 to ensure it is created, shipped and delivered before the Holidays. I can certainly get them done after that, but I'll add a small rush fee.

To my wonderful repeat customers and to those who are thinking about ordering, I'd like to extend an offer to you that may help you out a little this time of year. Enjoy 10% off any item, including pet portraits, in my Etsy shop. Just use the coupon code: THANKYOU10 in the checkout process.

Give the gift that will make someone else smile and hopefully cry with joy! Sounds somewhat weird of me, but when I make someone cry because of my work, I know I was successful. :)

Weiner Dog Day in Carrboro: Donation

Congrats to the winner of the item I donated to the Third Annual Weiner Dog Day on the lawn in Carrboro, on Weaver Street! It was to benefit the Almost Home Dachshund Rescue Society (AHDRS). You can find out more about this organization on their site: AHDRS. The event was co-sponsored by Phydeaux pet shop. Unfortunately, I could not attend the event, but I'd like to check out this Weaver Street Market situation sometime soon, seems like a good time!

Second Chance Pet Adoptions Furry 5k

Amy's Creative Corner will be attending the first annual Second Chance Pet Adoptions Furry 5K Run & 2K Walk, to be held Saturday, November 3rd at Fred G. Metro Park in Cary as a vendor!

The run is to benefit Second Chance Pet Adoptions. This awesome organization helps find loving homes for abandoned or stray dogs and cats. Second Chance was the first no-kill animal rescue organization in the Triangle. They have provided many services to homeless animals and have helped countless strays find loving and safe permanent homes. All of their dogs are kept in foster homes, giving the organization the chance to train and socialize each dog and better place them in a new home. The proceeds from the Furry 5K will go to to raise money for the homeless animals that Second Chance saves. In addition to the 5K, there will be a 2K dog walk, and a 1K senior dog walk.

You can sign up today to enter the 5k or make a donation. There will be a lot of other great vendors and sponsors at this event, including: Phydeauxpets, PetCo Foundation, Aussie Pet Mobile, and Care First Animal Hospital. Come out and support this great cause and get some fresh air with your little ones.

Find out more about the event by visiting the Second Chance Pet Adoptions website.

The winner will receive a free custom pet portrait size 6x6. Can't wait to meet the winner! Triangle Dog Magazine nicely added my advertisement for A.C.C. I think it turned out pretty good. I hope I hear from at least one person from this ad. I hope. :)

Meet the Artist Yappy Hour at Woof Gang Bakery!

I had a wonderful time at the Meet the Artist Yappy Hour event at Woof Gang Bakery. I set up some samples of my work and I had the chance to meet some of the regular customers who visit WGB.

One of the highlights was meeting Miss. Maggie. She was the winner of the WGB summer photo contest, where I donated a custom portrait to the photo that received the most "likes" on WGB's Facebook page. I let the owner know that I'd be set up that evening with her painting all ready for pick up, if she happened to be in town. About mid-way through the event, I looked out the front glass door and saw a scruffy little face that I recognized immediately. It was Miss. Maggie!! I was so excited to meet a furry friend that I had painted...usually I just get photos emailed to me and I ship out the portrait, and never get to meet the little one that I paint. It was so delightful to meet Miss. Maggie, and her owners too, of course! Very nice little family.

I will be setting up again, perhaps a little closer to November, for another Meet the Artist Yappy Hour. So maybe I'll get to meet more of my wonderful little models. :)

The lovely ladies at Woof Gang Bakery do such great work and are so dedicated to their store, I just truly appreciate them so much. When I first displayed paintings on their walls in January, one of the paintings was of one of the owner's dogs. I printed out an image of that painting and created a custom dog treat jar, pictured above, that I gave to the store as a Thank You gift. I don't think they will have a problem keeping the jar full!

The Artist Eye Magazine Filming and Interview

Tomorrow morning is another day of filming and interviews in Amy's Creative Corner!! This time, the talented people of a new magazine in Raleigh, The Artist Eye, will be interviewing me about my business and my artwork and will be filming me in action...painting! Super excited and a little bit nervous...

Meet the Artist Yappy Hour

I will be at Woof Gang Bakery tomorrow evening from 6-8 for a "Meet the Artist Yappy Hour." I have been displaying my paintings and taking commissioned work from this wonderful pet boutique since January '12.  I am so grateful that they are letting me set up and share my artwork with their great friends and customers.

They will offer wine at this event and I'll be offering 10% off your custom painted pet portrait orders. So come on in, meet me and my artwork, drink some wine,  bring your furry friends, get some treats and have a relaxing and fun evening. I look forward to meeting you!

Woof Gang Bakery is located between Starbucks and Bonefish Grill at North Hills in North Raleigh.

International Sales: World Map

Since I've been creating artwork for people across the seas, I thought I'd hang up a visual of where my art is being shipped to. I purchased a world map and spray mounted it to a set up of cork boards. So far, I have three international thumb tacks: Taiwan, Afghanistan, and Australia. Woohoo!
The little pup below has just been shipped to Houston, Texas. That is 1,223 miles away!

Here is the YouTube video made by Pegleg Media describing my first international sale!

YouTube montage Samples of my Work

I have set up my Amy's Creative Corner's YouTube channel and added my first video. I used iMovie to create a little montage of still photos of my painted pet portraits and necklaces. This is the first of many to come and I'm really excited about it! I am in the process of working on a promotional video, where I'll show who I am, what I do, etc. I can't wait to work on it! I'll be working with Pegleg Media here in Raleigh. :)

Newest product in Amy's Creative Corner

Soooo I am really excited about the newest product in Amy's Creative Corner. After painting Mya's portrait, I printed out the image and cut out the background. Next, I spray mounted the front of the image to inside of the glass jar. She loves it! Well, maybe she just loves what is in it, but I am happy with this creation and I am anxious to see how the animal lovers out there will like it.  Find out more about the jar or place an order at my Etsy shop.

Mural at All Dogs Together Dog Training

I just finished a small mural at a dog training facility in Cary called All Dogs Together. Karen Smith runs this great program and allowed me to go paint all over her walls! This is a work in progress since she just moved into this new facility, so I'll be posting more photos after I get back in there and paint more. So far, we have the waiting room just about ready. Like the "water station?"

Woof Gang Bakery pet portraits on Display

Here are the newest pet portraits that are on display and for sale at Woof Gang Bakery in North Raleigh.  Yes, one of them is my dog, Mya! This place has great dog treats...I wouldn't know, but Mya certainly enjoys them.

This Memorial weekend was my third annual trip to Ocracoke Island. If you've never gone before, I highly recommend it. It's a little treasure...wayyyyy out on the outer banks of North Carolina. It's a very small and unique little island full of little gems...and I tried to capture some of them for you.
