I hope people are finding ways to spend their time at home without going too crazy! I know it it a very surreal time that we find ourselves in right now.  Hang in there! I am still not able to offer massage therapy because of coronavirus, but I’ve been busy painting a little bit everyday. Tribute to MYA

Am a little late on sharing this on my blog, but I'd like to share my tribute to Mya from my website. 

Tribute to Mya 

Words cannot express the amount of heaviness one may have in their heart when it comes to letting go of their animal friends. I let go of my dear, sweet girl, Mya on May 31st, 2019. It was a blend of bittersweet, joy, deep sadness, surreal, heavenly warmth- all in one emotion.​Mya was 12 years old when she passed, after struggling for some years with heart disease. 

 She came to this earth to help me grow as a person, develop my Self, and believe in myself to be a professional artist. Her time on this earth was full of fun, happiness, pure love and joy. She brought so much joy to so many people. 

When I posted about her passing on social media, my heart was so overjoyed to read all the words from her human friends who had the great pleasure of knowing her over the years. She was the sweetest, softest, spunky little cavalier spaniel and chihuahua mix.​ 

She was an amazing inspiration and motivation for my artwork. Below are some of the paintings of her I created over the years. It is wild to see how primitive my style was 10 years ago! My work has come a long way, and I give her appreciation and respect for always being by my side, with every painting I ever did, under my feet, always there. It will be different to paint without her physically there, but I know she will be with me still, right with me, always, with every painting I ever create for the world.​

Artwork on display at Open Door Yoga in downtown Raleigh, NC

Super excited for Open Door Yoga studio in downtown Raleigh, NC, for displaying a few pieces of work of mine for a couple of months.  They rotate local artists every few months, which is awesome! All of my pieces on display are also on my Etsy shop, but if you're in town, see something you like, just send me a message if you'd like to purchase it and take it home from the studio.  yeager@amyscreativecorner.com.

If you are local, consider trying out this studio, it is really quite lovely.  They offer a wide range of classes including hot yoga, kettle bell classes, and retreats.  They are located on Johnson St., just off St. Mary's St. in downtown Raleigh.  A really beautiful studio with great teachers and owner, Monica Shannon.

Reflective paper and some new techniques in NC

Hello friends! 

Well, it's the new year, 2019.  I am back in Cary, North Carolina for the time being.  While I've been here, I have tried out some new experiments! 

I thought I'd see what happened if I painted directly onto metallic/reflective stock paper...and here are some of the results...  

Honey Bee, painted on canvas paper, cut out, and laid upon gold foil, reflective paper.  My two fingers in the reflection...

Awww, little kitty! 12x12 size, all of them framed and ready to hang on your wall.

Here is a video of the kitty painting to see how cool the paper looks...the look of the painting is always changing, along with you.

And two red cardinals.  I swear, since I've been back in North Carolina, the cardinals have been trying to get my attention.  I love watching them fly around and talk to each other.  

Reading up on facts about these birds was really interesting, too.  Did you know? That male cardinals fly into windows so much because when they see a reflection in the window, they think it's a competitor and so they go after them...but they fly into themselves instead! :(

And I have not forgotten about my good ol' canvas.  Here are some of the latest on canvas...

But have you heard of Kambo?!  In Austin, TX, I had the great opportunity to try a Kambo Ceremony for an intense detox.  It was really therapeutic for me personally, and felt so strongly about the power of the frogs medicine, that I wanted to paint it.
